A site visit was carried out in June 2025 by members of the Infection Prevention and Control team from Wakefield Council. Following the inspection, the Practice was rated GREEN. This means we are fully compliant with Infection Prevention and Control during this period of assessment

2024
A site visit was carried out in May 2024 by members of the Infection Prevention and Control team from Wakefield Council. Following the inspection, the Practice scored 94%. There were no significant events in relation to infection control during this period of assessment, however the following action plan was agreed:
- need more foot operated waste bins near the hand washing areas
- worktops in minor ops suite needs to be resealed with sealant
- to acquire copies of cleaning audits and specifications from contract cleaners
- develop a vaccine log of stock in and out
- supply FFP3 face masks for staff in case of a measles outbreak
2024 – Certificate of Recognition
2023
As requested by the local council, we carried out a self-assessment in March 2023 and provided this to them for review. The results were returned as ‘satisfactory’. A full on-site inspection by the Infection Control Team will be carried out next year.
2022
A site visit was carried out in March 2022 by members of the Infection Prevention and Control team from Wakefield Council. Following the inspection, the Practice scored 93%. The following action plan was agreed:
- ensure that PPE is stored in wall mounted racks
- keep a record of when spot cleaning has taken in and around the minor ops suite
- replace the old worn sink in cleaners room
There were no significant events in relation to infection control during this period of assessment
2022 – Certificate of Recognition
2020 to 2021
As a result of the pandemic, no infection control audits were carried out. The Practice continued to maintain a high level of infection prevention control in order to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
2019
A self-assessment audit was carried out in October 2019 in conjunction with the local authority and the Practice scored 93%. The following action plan was agreed:
- ensure all staff, including cleaners, have completed Infection Prevention and Control e-learning
- ensure that compliance IPC is built into annual appraisals
