Subject Access Requests (SAR)

With the patients consent, third parties such as solicitors and insurance companies, can request access to your medical records. We will always ensure that the patient has consented to this disclosure of information. In most cases, solicitors and insurance companies will provide the patient’s signed consent to release information held in their health record.

The Police are not able to access health records without your consent unless they have a court order or warrant. However, the Practice may disclose relevant information to the Police if its in the public interest and may cause harm if left undisclosed.
